Define drive the strategic direction of the Surgical Innovation (SI) business in Central Cluster(Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia)with strong collaboration with the Regional Business Directors, Central Clusterleadership team and our distributor partners.

The role reports directly to the SI Sr Business Director Central Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa (CEMA) and dotted line to the Central Cluster Minimally Invasive Technology Group (MITG) lead.

This position has total PL responsibility for Surgical Innovation Central Cluster.The position is a part of the SI CEMA MITG Central Cluster Leadership team.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities include:

+ Establish and roll-out the vision, strategy and annual goals and objectives for the SI business for Central Cluster, ensuring alignment with overall SI business strategy and plans at EMEA and Global level.

+ Drive procedural focus and VBHC for Central Cluster, working closely with the SI Marketing organization on innovative business models and channel strategies.

+ Develop and implement business strategies and plans to grow the SI business within Central Cluster and to deliver yearly defined objectives relative to the annual operating plan (AOP), market penetration and market share.

+ Identify business growth opportunities and unmet customer requirements and provide focus for regional market development strategies.

+ Analyze all relevant external and internal information to develop strategies to improve sales, decrease cost and increase market share for all SI product lines.

+ Drive/Ensure the implementation and the success of strategies and ad-hoc plans.

+ For all the above duties, the key would be to partner with our third-party distributors to execute on the vision, strategy and AOP, ensuring regular in person meetings, business reviews and field visits

+ Work with the Central Cluster and CEMA SI business leaders to provide input on forecast, inventory control, phase in/out plans, clinical evaluations, market trends, updates etc.

+ Work with cross functional colleagues in finance, legal, marketing, supply chain, customer service etc. to ensure business success

+ Drive talent acquisition development, as well as organizational development.

+ Develop and maintain contact with the KOLs and other health care professionals and ensure the definition and prioritization of customer requirements, through participation in physician organizations

**Must haves**

+ B.A degree

+ Fluency in English essential

+ Minimum 8-10 years of progressively expanding sales and marketing responsibilities, with consistent strong performance

+ Experience in highly competitive fast-growing market

+ Medical device industry experience, ideally in a multinational

+ Minimum of 5 years of management/leadership experience

+ Solid experience in managing cross-functional, cross-business issues and generating impact through others

+ Experience of working in a matrix structure

**Nice to Haves**

+ Experience with SI products a plus

+ Postgraduate degree


+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

+ Strong strategic thinker, able to identify potential opportunities and threats in the market and turn into opportunities for the SI Central Cluster organization. Able to translate the CEMA SI business strategy into regional growth plans.

+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.

+ Role Model for operating in the ambiguous situations, champions positive ideas and challenges consistently the conventional wisdom. Serves as an advocate for major change initiatives and conveys need for action to others to motivate change.

+ Able to build and manage strong relationship at all levels in Medtronic and work in a matrix business environment.

+ Able to partner with the distributors, building solid relationships and working relationship, leveraging strong influence management skills.

+ Strong talent development skills: Provides constructive feedback and coaching and creates an environment for effective talent development.

+ Strong motivation skills of groups in a multi-cultural environment, engaging and convincing personality, able to motivate direct and dotted line teams to achieve business objectives.

+ Assertive in setting high expectations for the organization, persistent in efforts to achieve goals and remove barriers. Strong ability to get plans executed from direct reports and non-direct reports.

+ Strong financial knowledge full understanding of all PL elements and their inter-relationship. Ability to manage within the budget and to quantify financial impact of decisions and identifies key factors when making recommendations.

+ Leads by example, shows integrity and highest ethical standards in every action.

**Travel Required:**

+ Up to 50% within the Central Cluster region.
