The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a field-based Medtronic
Gastrointestinal Hepatology (GIH) sales position. This individual will
call on healthcare organizations, primarily hospitals, in a defined geographic
area. The SAM will serve as a customer facing product expert primarily
responsible educating physicians and nurses on the clinical advantages of the
entire GIH product portfolio. The position is focused on expanding the
utilization of GIH products through market development and sales-oriented
activities. Additionally, the SAM is required to continually develop their
clinical knowledge to serve as a product expert for the company. By doing so,
they can convey information in an effective manner to help support optimal utilization
of the full product portfolio to the widest range of health care providers.

**A Day in the Life**


+ Achievemonthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas by driving incremental productadoption through delivery ofclinical knowledgeprimarilyfocused onthe Gastrointestinal (GI) tract andHepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) anatomy.

+ Thoroughlyunderstand product line features, benefits and proof sources.

+ Routinelysee all customers within the assigned geographic area.

+ Establishexcellent relationships with all healthcare professionals and physiciansin their territory. Specifically, noted, gastroenterologists, endoscopicsurgeons, interventional radiologists, HPB surgeons, administrative andlab personnel where procedures are performed or influenced.

+ Educatephysicians and clinical personnel on use of GIH products.

+ Collaboratewith cross-functional counterparts and extended sales force byconsistently communicating and sharing best practices.

+ Developa thorough understanding and the ability to communicate the reimbursementenvironment for all products.

+ Routinelyupdate sale actions plans and forecasts.

+ Providesolution-oriented strategies to facilitate product adoption and acceleratesales growth.

+ Successfullylaunch new devices developed or acquired by the organization in theassigned territory.


+ Provideclinical product demonstrations and education in accounts throughindividual and group interactions to increase the customers understandingand proficiency in the GIH product line.

+ Demonstratedisease state expertise in all areas for which the products are used.

+ Understandand articulate clinical and journal articles in all relevant diseasestates.


+ Maintainadministrative responsibilities in

+ Consistentlyperform administrative responsibilities such as expense reports, salesreports, and other business requests.

+ Performall on line trainings within assigned timelines demonstratingproficiency.

Awareness and adherence to Medtronic code of conduct policy.

**MustHave: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 3 years of fieldsales experience and working knowledge of company products and services

**Nice to Have**

+ Medical Device Sales

+ Established businessplanning and forecasting experience.

+ Demonstratedformal sales skills training, preferably from a Fortune 500 company.

+ Proventrack record of exceeding sales quotas.

+ Goodcomputer skills with specific skills in Microsoft Office: Power point,Excel, and Word.

+ Medicaldevice/equipment sales experience.

+ Experienceselling to physicians in a procedural setting.

+ Degreewith emphasis in Life Sciences, Medicine, or related, technical field.

+ Abilityto establish and maintain good working relationships with all functionalpartners.

+ Abilityto multi-task and work independently.
