In this exciting role as a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have responsibility for developing and implementing best practices in risk management and for providing expertise related to post-market activities within the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Quality organization. This includes evaluating product issues to ensure patient, user and security risk are assessed, and if applicable escalated for action.

The ENT Operating Unit provides products and services that offer lifelong solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat. This position will be supporting Mystic, CT QMS Entity.

A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

+ Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

+ Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

+ Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.


+ Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

+ May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

+ Projects may include but are not limited to the following: Ensures that all activities are in compliance with Quality System requirements, implement First Time Quality initiatives


Must Have: Minimum Requirements


Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Masters Degree Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality.


Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):


+ Masters degree preferred

+ Experience applying statistical methodology and using ERP and MES systems


+ Experience implementing process improvements (DMAIC and Green Belt certifications)

+ Experience presenting technical data to groups within and outside the organization

+ ASQ-CQE, CQA, CBA or equivalent certifications

+ Medical device experience; or experience in a regulated environment

+ Experience working with suppliers and/or contract manufacturers


+ Strong analytical skills

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Ability to work effectively within team and across functions
