Our mission drives the need to be a highly skilled, flexible, extremely efficient, versatile and agile in medical device product development for the benefit of our patients living with diabetes in need of intensive insulin therapy.


The Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer isresponsible for medical device product manufacturing and delivering products for patients in need of emerging


solutions to help manage their diabetes. In this role, the team member will lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for a complex active implantable medical device. The team member will leverage experience with traditional medical manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, welding, joining, sterilization, mechatronics assembly and medical materials to bring to life new product designs. The team member will collaborate with other members of the product development team that include program management, various types of engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, firmware, software), quality, clinical, regulatory affairs, and other key business functions. There will also be an opportunity for this team member to interact with patients and physicians.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Serve as NPI core team member for implantable medical device focused on establishing pilot manufacturing line, manufacturing transfer to Contract Manufacturer (CM), and process validation

+ Identification and evaluation of strategic CM partners

+ Design manufacturing processes, test methods, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling

+ Establish appropriate process controls to ensure manufacturing capability, reliability, and product safety

+ Support pre-clinical studies to validate safety prior to first human use

+ Support clinical studies to prove safety and efficacy for regulatory clearance

+ Support the cross-functional team on the execution of the various product development effort

+ Communication with leadership, management and team members including appropriate risk and escalation management


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors Degree in technical field with10+ years program experience related to medical device product developmentor

+ Masters Degree in technical field with 8+ years program experience related to medical device product development


**Nice to Have**


+ Strong preference for engineering and life science education and experience preferably in the manufacture of medical device fluidic systems

+ Experience in new product introduction in regulated environments

+ Experience with 3D CAD programs such as OnShape, Solidworks and/or Pro Engineer.

+ Results oriented, self-starter with a strong initiative and sense of urgency

+ Enthusiasm and a desire to affect change

+ Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness - ability to succinctly and accurately communicate to various levels of management and employees.

+ Effective decision-making skills - experience negotiating and balancing decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments and willingness to make tough decisions. Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.

+ Strong analytical, planning, organization and time management skills to effectively develop and execute new product introductions.

+ Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO, Outlook, SharePointand other collaboration and workflow management tools
