The Regional Asia Pacific (APAC) EA leader and Sr.
Principal Enterprise Architect role is responsible for leading delivery team
architects and teams through business, process, and technology strategy
definition, alignment, and related roadmaps across APAC.This role mentors subject matter experts in
each geography and partners with Enterprise Architects, Business Solution
Architects, Technical Architects, business partners, and external service
providers globally to ensure new business and technical capability needs align
with stated architecture strategies and Medtronics standards and delivery
capabilities for the APAC Region.


This role also mentors other Medtronic employees to
develop architecture and structure strategic planning and subject matter
expertise.Key deliverables include:


+ ArchitectureDefinition Documentation (completed and reviewed)

+ Input tobusiness capability models, assessments, roadmaps and technology standardsand roadmaps

+ Enterprisesolution strategy assessments across capability areas


The Sr. Principal
Enterprise Architect is a key leader in the identification of opportunities and
risks with the current solution landscape, generating and leading the
implementation of overarching platform strategies, directing initiatives to
mitigate risk, and assisting with establishing and maintaining a governance
model across the global architecture, focused on the APAC region.


The role will lead the regional APAC architecture
practice and the APAC Architecture Review Board to maintain standards
regionally and globally. This leader will also participate as a voting member
of the Global Architecture Review Board to establish and will serve as a
representative of the Global Architecture team in APAC, reviewing new
initiatives, providing architecture guidance and decisions regarding the
viability of components and designs to operationalize the landscape.


The Regional APAC EA Leader reports to the Sr. IT
Director and Head of Global Architecture, while maintaining a dotted line into
the APAC CIO and also with the Head of the India Global Technology Center.


Positional
Responsibilities


+ Demonstrate ahigh degree of learning agility with the ability to readily consume andapply new information and concepts with developed analyticalproblem-solving skills.

+ Identify the organizational (e.g., skills, processes, structures orculture) and financial impact of the enterprise design.

+ As a member ofthe Enterprise Architecture organization, act as a key contributor to theenterprise reference architecture models (creation, maintenance,governance).

+ For architecturally significant activities, ensure alignment acrossbusiness technical solution architecture design, implementation andmodification activities (e.g., across delivery teams and key process andtechnology leaders in those areas).

+ Consult with technology (application,infrastructure) development projects to fit systems or infrastructure toarchitecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the solutionarchitecture to accommodate project needs.

+ Partners with the Enterprise ProjectManagement Office (EPMO) to ensure alignment and execution of plans withproject deliveries. Facilitates the process for Enterprise Architecture,Security, Privacy and IT Governance review of proposed architecturedesigns for project, program, regional, business and/or functional teamsas appropriate.

+ Facilitates and oversee the execution of the Solution SelectionProcess for APAC with business solution, data, and technology architects;ensure alignment to enterprise standard solutions and define new solutionsto meet business capability needs.

+ Ensures all solution architecture design andanalysis work within architecture definitions (solution design andanalysis work) are documented and stored per enterprise standards.

+ Partners withother architects to analyze:


+ Enterprisebusiness drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.

+ The ITenvironment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend broad-basedsolutions for improvement.

+ Technologyindustry and market trends and determine their potential impact on theenterprise.

+ Translateenterprise information architecture (e.g., enterprise data model,metamodel, common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies), toguide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency ofinformation assets across the application portfolio.

+ Mapenterprise information architecture models to package application modelsto determine impact or assess suitability of vendor solutions toenterprise information architecture.


+ Serves as arepresentative of the Enterprise Architecture practice, communicating,educating and advocating the value of architecture, governance, standardsand the practice methodology to grow the architecture mindset acrossGlobal IT, and as focused in APAC.

+ Serves assubject matter expert across APAC, consulting with business and ITstakeholders, responsible for presenting architectural concepts as a keytechnical voice.

+ Adapts communications tothe needs and understanding of the audience, appropriately abstractingdetails to a point of relevancy based on the audiences role. Anticipateslogical questions with appropriate support prepared while also respondingeasily to spontaneous questions.

+ Plays a leadership role inthe creation and continual improvement of the reference library acrossAPAC.

+ Authors and guides othersto create technical documentation which appropriately applies thereference library of guidelines, standards, and patterns to depict complexand enterprise topics and technical plans.

+ Collects, interprets anddistills data from internal and external sources to make relevantconnections to enterprise needs, creating meaningful recommendations whichimpact organizational initiatives.

+ Drives desired businessoutcomes through their recommendations leveraging a fundamentalunderstanding of the healthcare industry, business operationalrequirements, emerging trends and company strategies across APAC.

+ Act as role model by living and demonstrating the Medtronic Corecompetencies and values.

+ 5+ years of experience aligned in an advisory roleto Senior IT executives

+ **7+ years of experiencealigned to a relevant architecture discipline (integrations, data, services,infrastructure)**

+ 7+ years working with data integration, exchange,and/or warehousing solutions and experience with Enterprise-class data modelingmethodologies and tools

+ 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge ofEnterprise-class architecture concepts, definition, and creation

+ 5+ years of experience ininformation architecture or 8+ years of experience as data analyst, businessintelligence analyst, or equivalent roles

+ 3+ years of experience with data architecture ofcloud-based solutions (e.g., applications (SaaS), platforms (PaaS), andinfrastructure (IaaS)) within an Enterprise environment
