We are looking for a Practice Manager for our AWS Public Sector Professional Services Education East Coast Practice.

At AWS, we’re hiring consultants to join the AWS Public Sector Professional Services Education Practice to work with our education sector customers and partners. Team members must possess an IT/management consulting background and have knowledge of education industry IT trends with the ability to leverage this as an adviser with customers, partners, and internally across AWS. We are looking for a consulting practice leader who has experience and passion in working with education focused organizations (Higher Ed, EdTech, K12) and can lead a team of specialists across a range of disciplines. As a Practice Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of professional services consultants working with education customers and partners to architect and implement innovative solutions on AWS. You will routinely engage with Director, VP, C-level executives and governing boards. You will be responsible for opportunity capture and driving engagement delivery. You will work closely with partner teams; drive business development initiatives through thought leadership; provide portfolio guidance and oversight; and meet and exceed customer satisfaction targets. We need someone that can foster and manage relationships with education customers and partners while leading and building a great team.

The position will require travel to customer sites in the US. This position may require 50 % travel depending on customer requirements and candidate’s location. We are flexible in terms of location (east coast required) and candidate must have easy access to a major airport. The selected candidate must be able to start within 30 days of offer acceptance.

• 7+ years of experience in and customer-facing positions as a professional services leader.
• 7+ years of experience with public sector contracting procedures, standards and specifications
• 3+ years consulting practice leadership experience as manager with P&L responsibility.
• 2+ years Public Sector project delivery experience
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in information technology or computer science or equivalent experience

• Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the partner environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
• Previous revenue management and forecasting experience.
• High-level of skill communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
• Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders and customers
• Demonstrable experience collaborating with sales, solution architects and customers
• Experience attracting new talent, developing team capabilities, and performing people management responsibilities
• PMP or other project management certification
• Excellent communication skills, bias-for-action, detail oriented, and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Demonstrable knowledge of Education Sector IT Trends, Procurement Process, and Decision Making
• The ability to generate ideas for how our program offerings can make our customers more successful
• Experience in a fast-paced, startup (or startup-like) environment and experience
