Problems and issues faced are complex, undefined and impact multiple businesses or functions, where information is typically difficult to obtain and extensive investigation to understand the root cause of problems is required.

Identifies, initiates, establishes and develops long term strategic relationships and alliances with key organizational stakeholders. Serves as principal spokesperson for the department, broad functional area or geography making recommendations to leaders and executives regarding strategic initiatives. Influences across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on divergent objectives.

Directs multiple teams led by directors and / or Managers. Determines organizational structure and develops talent strategies. Develops management team to support strategic objectives. Authorizes hiring, firing, promotion and reward within own area.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Set the vision and strategy for the Project Management Office (PMO) in ENT for both New Product Development (NPD) and Released Product Management (RPM).

+ Manage the portfolio of ENT projects with internal strategic partners to meet business targets.

+ Oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and the business from initiation through globallaunch activities

+ Manage the development and implementation process of ENTs products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.

+ Play an active role in upgrading and continually improving the Design Control Process.

+ Define, design, and mature the PMO office by building a talent pool capable of executing against the organizations vision.

+ Promote effective and innovative project management techniques that clearly illustrate project status and success including standardizing the approach and methodologies for both the NPD and RPM groups.

+ Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

+ Facilitate the concurrent engineering process for all projects to ensure seamless design transfer to manufacturing and launch success.

+ Lead the Portfolio Strategy Board and Project Review Committee, setting the agenda and driving and unbiased conversation that keeps the organization aligned with stated priorities and keeps projects on track and on budgetPresent (in conjunction with marketing / product managers) in a professional and unbiased format.

+ Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other PMO leaders to facilitate partner projects in other parts of Medtronic, and to bring best practices back to ENT.

+ Participate as member of RPM Governance Board and serve, in conjunction w/ other senior leadership, as final authority of RPM project priority setting, trade-off discussions, and decision-making.

+ Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.

+ Lead PMO through the annual budgeting process.

+ Spend time in the field with commercial stakeholders and customers and field sales force to gain more product knowledge and understand both existing and emerging needs in the market.

+ Perform duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.

+ All other duties as assigned.

+ Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.

+ Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

+ Manages the development and implementation process of a companys products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.

+ Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

+ Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.

+ Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

+ Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

+ Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of projects key stakeholders.

+ Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience , or Advanced Degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience

**Nice to Have**

Advanced management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams. Has achieved mastery within project management and has associated PMP credentials.
