Medtronic is the worlds premier medical technology company, providing patient benefits around the globe. Their Tempe Arizona Microelectronic Solutions location is looking for a Senior Equipment Engineer to work on device manufacturing equipment.


**A Day in the Life**


In this role, you will support, repair, install, upgrade, and identify improvements on manufacturing equipment at Medtronic Tempe Campus.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


+ Working with the process engineering and maintenance to determine and track appropriate spare parts inventory and availability.

+ Evaluate, select and order equipment when needed to support the manufacturing facility.

+ Manage vendor partners to meet expected outcomes.

+ Oversee and coordinate the installation, modification, upgrade, inventory and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

+ Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers technical notices, upgrades and safety issues.

+ Study equipment performance and reliability using statistical methods.

+ Establish programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.

+ Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.

+ Design or coordinate design and manufacturing of new fixtures and work aids.

+ Develop and institutionalize new processes and procedures to enable best-in-class equipment management outcomes.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.


**Nice to Have**


+ Degree in ElectricalEngineering or related Technical Scientific discipline. MS degree in ElectricalEngineering is preferred.

+ Experience with equipment maintenance optimization such as predictive or usage-based maintenance.

+ Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems.

+ Experience with automated test equipment, PCB assembly and processes including Die Attach, Wirebond, Transfer Mold, Direct Chip Attach, solder paste and reflow processes, sizing technologies including mechanical, Rout/De-panel, Wet Saw Singulation and Excise, and dimensional verification using optical metrologies for semi-conductor packaging assembly.

+ Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment with production personnel, equipment supplier, Process Engineering, and other Functional Groups (Component, Product etc.) on continuous improvement projects.

+ Strong verbal and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-linked technical work environment.

+ Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Master Black Belt, or equivalent knowledge, investment, and experience in design for reliability and manufacturing.
