Arizona Microelectronic Solutions location is looking for a Sr Electrical Engineer
supporting failure analysis in their Product Analysis Lab (PAL). The PAL
supports the entire lifecycle of implantable medical devices and related
components from released products, manufacturing operations, product
development, and research and development.


This position will
support the Medtronic mission for unsurpassed quality and reliability in our
medical devices by providing technical support to root cause analysis of
problems encountered throughout the product lifecycle. The position has hands
on responsibilities on multiple analytical tools and collaborates across
multiple engineering disciplines.

**A Dayin the Life**


In this position you will perform
hands-on electrical analysis of devices, hybrids, components, integrated
circuits, or others at the bench to determine root cause of failures. This
includes the use of bench electrical test equipment, probes, microscopes, and
in collaboration with other teams on campus. This analysis is in support of
internal customers relating to development, released product yield, field
returns, components, and others.


Responsibilities may include the
following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Obtain, interpret, and utilize data from formal test, complaint handling,and other document repositories.

+ Participate in or lead frequent discussion with inter-organizationalcontacts. Represent the lab in providingsolutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

+ Perform physical (hands-on) deconstruction or modification of devices,hybrids, components, or integrated circuits in relation to electrical analysis.

+ Write formal analysis reports, resulting in clear and accurate messagingabout analysis findings to both the submitter and a broader audience.

+ Provide frequent verbal and written updates of work-in-progress atmeetings (in person or teleconference).

+ Utilize failure analysis laboratory equipment, such as: photon emissionand infrared microscope, optical digital microscopes, X-ray systems, chemicalde-processing systems, soldering/de-soldering systems, focused ion beam, wirebonding, custom electrical test software (i.e. LabVIEW) and other in support offailure analysis.

+ Participate in or lead continuous improvement, business initiatives, andsafety team activities.

+ Support or lead analysis-queue related activities including submissiontracking, shipping, and reporting.

+ Support or lead general laboratory sustaining activities such as 5S,equipment calibration, fixture validation, equipment ownership and other.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelorsdegree required

+ Minimumof 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2years relevant experience


**Nice toHave**


+ Bachelors or mastersdegree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.

+ A working knowledge of semiconductors, microprocessors, circuit layouttools, and automated test fundamentals is desired.

+ Strong hands-on experience with bench level electrical test/measurementequipment

+ Experience using failure analysis laboratory equipment, such as: photonemission and infrared microscope, optical digital microscopes, X-ray systems,chemical de-processing systems, soldering/de-soldering systems, wire bonding,and other) in support of failure analysis

+ Experience working in a highly regulated environment.

+ Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.

+ Good writing and communication skills.

+ Ability to work and participate effectively in a team environment.
