Special Counsel


Parker + Lynch Legal, the attorney search division of Special Counsel, is seeking an Attorney Search Director for its Orange County office. The Attorney Search Director position will work with Hiring Partners, General Counsel and other law firm and corporate legal department management to secure job orders and to recruit for and fill direct hire attorney positions. Prior legal staffing industry experience is pred. However, attorneys with a strong desire to leave the practice of law and that are open to a new environment can be very successful in our industry. This position hosts an extensive telephone recruiting and deal making culture. We offer a competitive compensation package, medical and dental insurance, and 401(k) plan.   1. Screen resumes, schedule appointments, interview, and screen and test applicants to determine their skill set and individual characteristics to assess placement opportunities.
  2. Responsible for all documents of all Associates’ work history, testing, absences and work order information in a computer.
  3. Manage relationships with clients by partnering to provide staffing solutions.
  4. Follow up with clients and applicants to ensure a proper matching has occurred.
  5. Responsible for account maintenance and problem solving.
  6. Negotiate pay and bill rates to maintain GM% Goal.
  7. Responsible for completing appropriate correspondence for each placement.
  8. Responsible for account development for generating new business.
  9. Tour clients’ facilities and seek to gain full understanding of clients goals and objectives.
  10. Responsible for generating Temporary revenue, Temporary – Hire and/or Direct Hire fees per budgeted goals.
  11. Conduct quality calls to clients and associates to ensure satisfaction is met on both ends.
  12. Perform follow-up with clients and associates to assess job performance and satisfaction.
  13. Manage house accounts for growth of revenue.
  14. Complete ence and degree verifications.
  15. Elicit job orders and fill with appropriate candidates in a professional and timely manner.
  16. Respond to requests for information.
  17. Prepare weekly staffing report for all staffing activity.
  18. Enter and edit information in Recruitmax.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:  (although not fundamental to the job, these functions are required to be performed periodically or infrequently or may be reassigned)


  1. Network in legal community to develop recruiting sources .
  2. Attend appropriate sales meetings with clients/potential clients.
  3. Perform specific sales projects (e.g. trade shows/conferences).
  4. Assist associates in career counseling and resume revisions.
  5. Participate in Trade Show/Job Fairs.
  6. Provide back-up to Administrative Assistant.
  7. Deliver Associates’ checks.
  8. Place recruiting ads.





  1. Formal Education: Four-year college degree; Juris Doctorate degree, or equivalent
  2. Skills:

(a)     Must be computer literate.

(b)     Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

(c)     Ability to work unsupervised.

(a) Prior legal experience required

  1. Knowledge:

(a) Familiarity with substantive areas of the law.
