**A Day in the Life**


As a Software Engineer, you
will join a team of talented and driven engineers driving the development and commercialization
of Medtronics next-generation Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) platform. You
will have the unique opportunity to analyze the most exciting anomalies and
critical cybersecurity vulnerabilities and build new software frameworks to mitigate these risks for the underlying robotic platform. This is a great role that will enable you to gain a strong
knowledge of different software components across the robotic system.

**You will:**


+ Build applications to perform data analytics on various vulnerability feeds.

+ Apply insights to develop frameworks that ensure a robust, safe and secure embedded real-time platform software.

+ Participate in software requirements analysis and verification plan execution.

+ Perform required documentation- of software and test design, tools, known anomalies and cybersecurity vulnerabilities- in compliance with FDA quality standards.

+ Participate in code and design reviews, risk assessment and mitigation efforts.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience


**Nice to Have:**


+ A bachelor's degree in in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent degree and 2-5 years of professional work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

+ Strong software development skills, with proficiency in C++/Python

+ Solid understanding and experience in design patterns, data structures and advanced programming techniques.

+ Experience with common development tools:environments, compilers, build management software, debugging and source control tools, etc.

+ Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals.

+ An insatiable intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly in a complex space.


**Preferred:**


+ **Experience with UNIX/Linux and shell scripting strongly preferred.**

+ Knowledge of Python data analysis librariesPanda or Beautiful Soupis a strong plus.

+ Proficiency in data engineering-data parsing, web scraping, data transformation, data integration, etc.- is a strong plus.

+ Experience working with RESTful API and general service-oriented architectures.

+ Experience with one or more: TDD, Unit Test, continuous integration and delivery.

+ Experience with distributed real-time software.

+ Familiarity with real-time operating systems such as QNX.

+ Familiarity with RTI DDS and other common networking protocols.

+ Experience performing risk management analysis of software (e.g. SW FMEA).

+ Familiarity with Agile development methodology.

**Working Conditions:**


Work-from-Home and
Standard Office setting in Boston, MA. Some limited travel may be required.
