**A Day in the Life**
Lead validation testing activities on medical device software and systems projects
Plan and conduct user validation testing, including user recruiting, designing and conducting usability tests, summarizing and communicating results
Create project specific test strategies and approaches compliant with applicable standards such as ISO 14971 and IEC 62366
Maintain knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements and best practices for product and usability validation
Represent test engineering in all phases of product development as needed such as reviewing requirements, design, usability, risk assessment and defects
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other test engineers
Contribute to department wide test strategies and process improvements
Participate in defect tracking and analysis
Effectively communicate findings, problems and solutions to project teams and stakeholders
Collaborate and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and stakeholders
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations
**Must Haves**
Bachelors Degree and 4+ years of Usability or Engineering experience OR Advanced Degree and 2+ years of Usability or Engineering experience
**Nice to Have**
Proven leadership and mentoring skills
Able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities
Experience with Agile and iterative development practices
Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customer, business and technical audiences
Understanding of FDA QSR
Project management skills including planning, estimation, tracking and communication
Self-motivated with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently
Experience with medical devices and neurosurgical procedures
