The Direct Supply Management Center of Excellence supports the business and corporate supply management organization to ensure we are able to deliver on support Supplier Cost, Quality, Delivery and Innovation with our Suppliers in support of Operational and Business goals. We are responsible for building out best in claas, pan Medtronic Supply Management Processes, Tools, Systems and Data Analytics to enhance our Supply Management Partners efficiency and improving ease of work in the organization.

This high impact role gains full exposure to the value chain of our products, services, and processes with a primary focus on supply of critical material, components, and services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting desire to improve our business.

A Day in the Life

The Sr. Program Manager is accountable for Developing and Implementing internal/external Sourcing best Practices, tools and templates across our Medtronic Supply Mangement organization. The Primary goal is to Partner with our supply management business teams, our Center Led Commodities Team (CLT) and our functional groups such as Operational Excellence, Global Supply Chain, Transportation, Quality, etc. to ensure project/program strategies are fully aligned and destined for success. Finally, this leader must ensure key deliverables are met in a timely and accurate fashion by building strong partnerships across the program and within functional teams, and clearly communicating at all levels to illuminate opportunities and risks.


Represent relevant Supply Management CoE Strategies during cross functional and cross business, business reviews and planning sessions.

Leverage Problem solving/Critical Thinking skills to ensure Program is well defined and meets the SMART criteria.

Develop Program charters and align with executive sponsor and leadership in project deployment

Lead Cross Functional, Pan MDT teams to plan and execute key Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier Master Data Management programs in alignment with our COE Strategy.

Assume full accountability to deliver the project on or under budget, on time, with the requisite elements of the established COE Program phases.

Continuously monitor, identify, and manage Risks that could have impact to project execution and work with the Team to provide and execute mitigation actions.

Maintain proactive and effective communications to all stakeholders inclusive of Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Manufacturing, team members, and Functional Leadership.

Partner with Commodity Management leadership and Program leadership to ensure the project strategy is fully aligned in expectations and plans.

Understand and align to current Sourcing Strategies during cross functional business reviews and planning sessions.

Identify scope changes due to market developments during project execution and implement through change control processes.

Actively manage critical path activities and resolution of schedule, resource, or functional conflicts which may impede project execution.

Ability to manage multiple technologies and priority changes while consistently meeting customer needs

Change Management: Lead development of Change Plans, Communication Plans, Stakeholder assessments and alignment strategies Organizational Readiness assessments, Training Plans and Material

Maintain proactive and effective communications to all stakeholders inclusive of Supply Management Leadership Team, team members, and Functional Leadership.

Program #1: Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Key RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead a cross-functional workstream representing Quality, Sourcing across all 4 Medtronic Business Units, Commodity Management, and Data Analytics, to implement SRM across Medtronic

Drive process improvements in supplier governance, Pan-Medtronic interactions with suppliers, relationship management, proactive value generation, and management of challenges and gaps across the supplier relationship lifecycle.

Drive SRM strategy for key elements of Stratification, Supplier Excellence, Governance, Risk and Performance to ensure robust supplier management

Manage and maintain Pan-Medtronic SRM centralized database and dashboard to visualize supplier data to enable effective decision-making

Program #2: Supplier Master Data Management (MDM) Key RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage Supplier Master Data Management process and solution implementation from the business perspective

Develop the program structure working with external implementation partner and representatives from 4 BU groups, IT, Accounts Payable, Supplier Quality, Contract Manufacturing, CLT, Indirect Supply Management teams, Product DNA, GOBS Analytics, and GSM Analytics teams

Facilitate business and function specific requirements gathering and ensure delivery of those requirements.

Ensure implementation of Supplier MDM is on time and on budget

Drive change management initiatives across groups identified above; Facilitate communication between the leadership and the program team

Develop and implement organizational structure to sustain the Master Data Management process long term.


Lead in ambiguous situations

Influence skills to achieve results across a matrix organization

Ability to manage multiple technologies and priority changes

Working knowledge of the Sourcing Function

Project Management experience

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

**Nice to Have**

Masters in Business, Engineering, Systems or Supply Chain

Multi-method, multi-level communication negotiation/influencing

PMI and/or CPM Certified

Proven communication, leadership, and interpersonal and team building skills

Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher

Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

Excellent influencing, process thinking, and data analysis skills

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Strategic Thinking - link generated ideas innovation with Product Strategies
