**A Day in the Life**
The Assistant Category Manager (Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist) manages work in support of Medtronic Global Indirect Supply Management (ISM), in partnership with the Category Manager for Facilities, Office Supplies, and End-User Print. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently to complete complex projects or resolve sourcing-related issues. They need to be fully competent in use of analytical tools, concepts and procedures. They will identify problems, recommend solutions, and take the necessary actions. They will perform a variety of duties in support of ISM by partnering with global stakeholders to implement world-class practices and achieve best-in-class results in a highly matrixed organization.
**Responsibilities:**
Partner closely with the center-led Facilities Real Estate team and Facilities Managers
Primary areas of responsibility will be to manage and support various strategic sourcing projects in Facilities, Office Supplies, and End-User Print categories
Engage and influence stakeholders in the US, EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and Greater China regions to adopt and implement strategies developed by the center-led team; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization and having the ability to develop the necessary skills to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirement
Develop robust data gathering and data quality maintenance protocols to ensure spend transparency and support development of baseline for sourcing efforts
Lead supplier negotiation efforts
Responsible for administration and maintenance of contracts
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
Procurement, strategic sourcing, and / or category management experience with any indirect commodity.
Facilities, Print, and / or Office Supplies sourcing experience preferred
Experience with the Ariba Sourcing and RFP tool
Prior experience leading RFPs and contract negotiations
Ability to manage and influence stakeholders
Strong oral and written communication skills
Collaborative, team player
Strong analytical skills
