As a Senior Software Engineer you willapply technical
expertise towards developing world-class solutions using software engineering
tools to solve complex technical problems related to surgical navigation,
robotics, and ablation products. As an experienced engineer, you will prepare plans
for your own work, guide and mentor other engineers, participate in technical
reviews, select the most promising concepts, implement advances in current
state-of-the-art software technology, and identify opportunities for
productivity and quality improvement.


You will work closely
with software development teams and cross-functional teams in an Agile
environment (Scrum). You will ensure tests pass relative to design
specifications, prepare formal documentation, and educate stakeholders regarding
solutions. You will provide solutions that require the regular use of ingenuity
and creativity and work is performed under only general direction to determine
technical objectives of assignments.


**A Day in the Life**


In
this role you will:


+ Design,develop, test, and document complex software components, and applicationsrelated to surgical navigation, robotics, and ablation products.

+ Leadrequirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts.

+ Interfacewith mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers as well as qualityassurance and regulatory compliance teams.

+ Troubleshoot,debug, maintain, and support existing products.

+ Representthe company at industry trade shows and customer sites.

+ Participateand often recommend on-going professional development activities.

+ Identifyand implement process improvements often of a complex nature.

+ Effectivelycontribute to development teams.


**Must Have: MinimumRequirements**


You
will have a minimum of aBachelors
degree in Computer Science or similar Engineering Discipline and 4+ years of experience
in development or an advanced degree and 2+ years.


+ Expertprogramming skills in C++.

+ Strong knowledgeof software design, development, debug, and test practices.


**PreferredQualifications**


+ Expert knowledgeof software design including OOA/OOD and design patterns.

+ Expert developingmedium to large size C++ applications or libraries including user interfaces.

+ Experience withother languages: Python, bash, Go, Java

+ Experience withdevelopment on GNU/Linux platform.

+ Experience withmodern, iterative software design processes and development practices (Scrum,Scaled Agile Framework, Test Driven Development).

+ Softwaredevelopment experience in the medical industry or other regulated industry.

+ Projectmanagement skills, including planning, estimation, and requirements management.

+ Expertise in oneor more of the following: C++11/14/17, Boost, Qt/QML, OpenGL, git, ContinuousIntegration, or a web-based technology stack.

+ Excellent oraland written communication skills.

+ Leadership andmentorship capabilities.

+ Ability to workin an Agile team environment.
