Cardiac Rhythm Management(CRM) offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

Medtronic CRMApplication Development teams develop the next generation medical technologies that save lives and improves quality of living for millions of patients across the world. The CRMSoftware team is one of the most cutting-edge teams within Medtronic, working with various software technologies in application software, network software, mobile software, BT/BLE communication software, and interfacing with embedded software for management and control of implantable medical devices. The CRMSoftware team is looking for a proactive, self-starting, strong software development engineer to help build the next generation of CRMsoftware.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the CRM Software organization developing software to support Medtronic implantable cardiac devices, the individual will participate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development, test and release processes.

**A Day in the Life**


**In general:**

+ Demonstrate ownership of software feature/module and drive development of the feature/module through SDLC.

+ Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside of the team.

+ Contribute and apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve complex technical problems.

+ Promote common practices across project platforms to improve product performance and time-to-market.

+ For development engineering:

+ Design, implement, test, debug and document integration solutions and enhance existing components, in a test-driven development environment, to ensure that software meets the business needs, while in compliance with applicable regulations and processes.

+ Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets or exceeds coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines.

+ Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership.

+ Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase team velocity.

+ Build prototypes, frameworks, development kits and accelerator systems suitable for engineering evaluations and testing

+ Develop and execute unit tests to ensure and maintain source code quality

+ Demonstrate quality ownership and accountability through timely corrective actions and root cause analysis

+ Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other engineering artifacts, ensuring timely delivery to meet program commitments.

+ Create and maintain product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results)

+ Learn new skills and adopt new practices readily in order to develop innovative and low-cost products that maintain the companys technical leadership position

+ Apply and comply with the project development process as defined by the Project Manager


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

**Specialized Knowledge Required:**

+ Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Experience with configuration management tools

+ Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.

+ Proficiency with two or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, .NET, Objective C

+ Familiarity and understanding of one or more of the following tools: Xamarin Framework, Visual Studio, Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Test Manager, Test Hub, Web based applications, Visual Source Safe, and Requisite Pro

+ Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall software development methods

+ Familiarity and understanding of one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Android and IOS

+ Proficiency working in a team environment

+ Strong Leadership skills and mentoring capabilities

+ Experience in mobile software development, e.g. iOS, Android

**Nice to Have**

+ Experience in the design and delivery of cross platform native mobile applications through Xamarin or associated frameworks

+ Experience in native iOS and Android, including UI development

+ Experience working in the healthcare industry and firm understanding of FDA requirements and privacy concerns

+ Visionary and innovative thinker willing to push the limits of existing technology and implement new cutting-edge solutions

+ Experience in web-based technologies, e.g. HTML5, Javascript, CSS, Cordova, Xamarin, Angular, RESTful web services

+ Knowledgeable in server-based technologies from cloud-provider technologies from Amazon, Microsoft or Google such as orchestration, microservices, databases and/or notification services

+ Experience implementing both image and database encryption solution

+ Experience in the design and delivery of cross platform native mobile applications through Xamarin or associated frameworks

+ Experience in native iOS and Android, including UI development

+ Proven experience with various mobile services such as location, messaging, multi-media, etc.

+ Experience with modern software engineering concepts, the software life cycle, and application software development using a variety of technologies

+ Strong team player driven by continual improvement and motivated to elevate team efficiency and quality

+ Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communications
