As a Senior Software Engineer you willapply technical
expertise towards developing world-class software-based solutions to solve
complex technical problems when integrating hardware and software related to
surgical navigation and robotics platforms. As a more experienced engineer, you
will prepare plans for your own work, participate in technical reviews, select
the most promising concepts, implement advances in current state-of-the-art software
technology, and identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvement.

You will work closely
with other software development teams and cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies
and workflows where appropriate. You will ensure tests pass relative to design
specifications, prepare formal documentation, and educate stakeholders
regarding solutions. You will provide solutions that require the regular use of
ingenuity and creativity and work is performed under only general direction to
determine technical objectives of assignments.

**A Day in the Life**

this role you will:

Design, develop, test, and document complex,
customer-facing software components, supporting integration of hardware and
software related to surgical navigation and robotics products.

Design, develop, test, and document
internal software components and infrastructure to support efficient
development of software components related to surgical navigation and robotics

Lead requirements gathering, estimating,
and planning efforts.

Interface with mechanical, electrical,
systems, and test engineers as well as quality assurance and regulatory
compliance teams.

Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and
support existing products.

Represent the company at industry trade
shows and customer sites.

Participate and often recommend on-going
professional development activities.

Identify and implement process
improvements often of a complex nature.

Effectively contribute to development

**Must Have: MinimumRequirements**

will have aBachelors degree
in Computer Science or similar Engineering Discipline and 4+ years of experience
in development or an advanced degree and 2+ years.

**Highly Preferred**

Strong programming skills in compiled languages, for example C++ or C#.

Strong programming skills in scripting languages, for example Python or

Strong knowledge of database technologies and query languages (SQL)

Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug, and test

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Ability to work in an Agile team environment.

**Nice to Have**

Expert knowledge of software design.

Expert developing medium to large size applications or libraries
including user interfaces.

Experience with other languages: shell scripting, Go, Java

Experience with development on GNU/Linux platform.

Experience with modern, iterative software design processes and
development practices (Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework, Test Driven Development).

Software development experience in the medical industry or other
regulated industry.

Project management skills, including planning, estimation, and
requirements management.

Expertise in one or more of the following: C++11 (or later), Qt/QML,
OpenGL, git, Continuous Integration, or a web-based technology stack.
