SURGICAL INNOVATIONS set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.


**A Day in the Life**


This position is in the Boston, MA Seaport District, as Sr Software Engineer for Software Architecture you will collaborate with the Lead Architect to maintain the Software Architecture Model (UML, SysML) and documentation (JAMA) and work with developers to align their implementation with the architecture.


**You will**


+ Support maintaining the Software Architecture Model (UML, SysML) using Enterprise Architect

+ Manage Software Items in JAMA

+ Collaborate with developers to align Architecture and Detailed Design through Design and Implementation reviews

+ Improve the Software Architecture by understanding and applying our domain of Surgical Robotic Software (from User Needs, to Requirements and down to implementation challenges)


**Must haves: Minimum requirements** :


+ Minimumof 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 yearsrelevant experience


**Nice to haves:**


+ A Bachelors Degree in a technicaldiscipline and 5+ years of relevant experience.

+ Solid design and architecture skillswith UML

+ Experience developing software formulti-threaded, multi-processor software systems.

+ **Have a good understanding of softwaredevelopment methodologies**

+ Strong C++ skills.

+ Strong UML / SysML skills

+ Experience developing software for embedded,real-time systems, ideally running QNX

+ Experience with Middleware DDS, Unix OS(Ubuntu), and network protocols (TCP/IP)

+ Experience with software infrastructuredevelopment to support data logging, network communication, process management,safety implementation, software installation, network configuration as well asworking with build and continuous integration teams.

+ Experience programming multiprocessormedical devices.

+ Good understanding of 62304 andregulated will defined SDLC.


**Working Conditions:**


Standard Office setting in South
Boston.Some limited travel may be
required.
