The **Senior Product Manager Downstream for O-arm andStealth Spine Marketing** is an essential member of the Medtronic Enabling
Technology Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Surgical Synergy
Marketing. The Senior Product Manager
will play a key role in scoping and executing upon the overall
commercialization strategy for the O-arm and Stealth Spine, focusing on the
sales readiness and customer communication.
The primary role is to be the marketing lead, focusing on messaging
strategy, sales tool creation, competitive positioning and product launch.


Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will work
closely with the Medtronic Spine business unit to ensure common messaging and
customer engagement strategies are in place for cross business success.


**The Senior Product Managerwill:**


+ Demonstrate a strong understanding thecustomers primary motivations and clinical needs when purchasing largecapital products in Spine Surgery

+ Create powerful messaging and storiesthat clearly articulate the value proposition of O-arm and Navigation.

+ Define competitive positioningstrategies and messaging to illustrate the Medtronic productsdifferentiated stories, features and benefits.

+ Lead and create launch plans for bothmajor and minor product launches.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Bethe primary story teller and content creator for the Stealth Spine and O-armproduct line, empowering the sales team to effectively message products tospine surgeons and hospital decision makers.Work with Upstream Marketing, Sales Ops, Regulatory, Clinical, and Legalto refine claims, messaging and strategy.

+ Leadlaunch efforts for new products and line extensions.Create and execute communication plan andpromotion strategy.Identify customersegments and create targeting prioritization.

+ Presentto various audiences, including customers, sales, and other internalaudiences.Must be a compelling anddynamic speaker with the ability to inspire and persuade critical audiences.

+ Createthe product messaging and positioning strategy for the capital sales team,working closely with the Spine division to ensure a unified messaging strategyfor the combined sales force.

+ Collaboratewith Medical Education and Sales Insight Boards on content, material creation,education strategy for diverse sales force needs.Work with International Marketing to enableand empower global sales readiness.

+ Workwith Upstream on VOC collection post product launch for future productimprovement.

+ Providesociety, trade show and locally hosted programs support.Utilize the opportunity at these events togain customer mindshare through promotional messaging tools and event programs.

+ Createcompetitive differentiation tools for sales presentations.Engage with customers during strategic salesevents to highlight Medtronic product benefits over competition. Work withUpstream Marketing to identify competitive gaps in product portfolio.

+ Workwith Sales Ops and Demand Planning to ensure product forecast is current andbased upon realistic predictive analysis

+ Workwith Service and International marketing, and regulatory to support end of lifestrategies and part obsolescence

+ Travelapproximately 50% (domestic)


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Formulates and reviews corporate short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for specific product or product line.

+ Conducts competitive product analysis and market research of product consumer behavior and professional audience.

+ Determines the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements.

+ Develops production and marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.

+ Works with other functions to finalize product specifications.

+ Provides advertising with core brand equity.

+ Serves as technical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in marketing, sales, product management or engineering, or Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years.


**Nice to Have**


+ MBA

+ Medicaldevice industry experience, spine or imaging preferred

+ Downstreammarketing experience

+ Stronginterpersonal skills
