MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Qualification of equipment (IQ) and associated documentation to ensure compliance to corporate, divisional and site process validation procedures and policies.

+ Develop and optimize tooling and fixturing that will reduce operating costs, product variability and improve manufacturing processes.

+ Complete detailed drawings for fabrication.

+ Identify opportunities for new tooling and equipment for development and operations projects.

+ Provides engineering support in the conception, prototyping and process development of medical devices under FDA 21 CFR part 820 and ISO13485 regulations.

+ Participate in cross-functional or departmental team projects as required.

+ Prioritizes and balance workload of multiple project assignments based on business and functional objectives.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Preferred


+ B.S. in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with experience in an ISO13485/GMP environment.

+ M.S. in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with experience in an ISO13485/GMP environment.

+ Engineering experience with medical devices.


**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

+ Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.

+ May be responsible for the transfer from RD to manufacturing.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES


+ Team dynamic skills (communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting management, managing conflict).

+ PLC and software validation

+ Equipment fixturing design

+ Machine shop practices

+ Familiarity with equipment for the medical device industry

+ Solidworks proficiency

+ Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GDT)

+ Technical writing skills

+ Verbal, written and presentation skills
