In this exciting role as an Advanced Manufacturing (Sustaining) Engineer you will work closely with manufacturing, quality engineers, other manufacturing engineers as well as RD, Strategic Sourcing, Quality and Packaging functions. You will lead Medtronic manufacturing in Jacksonville clean room as a senior level engineer. Also, you will provide guidance to more junior engineers regarding processes to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. You will develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques. Works with manufacturing site on validation strategy and execution. May be involved in designing and planning layout for such activities as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly and equipment implementation. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Assist manufacturing site with design and arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Will incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
**Day in the life:**
Supports manufacturing partners development of lean manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
May engage with supplier and facilities with the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Collaborates with Product Development and Manufacturer on the sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Supports the adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Ensures capable inspection and test requirements are specified into the production Control Plan with suppliers and design Quality Engineering.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Ensures manufacturing processes are scalable and capable by applying the appropriate Manufacturability analysis and Gage RR Statistics,
Provides guidance to Product Development engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations (21 CFR 820).

**Must Have: Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of experience with Bachelors Degree OR 2+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree
**Nice to Have**
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
GDP/GMP
DFMA
Validation planning and execution experience
Design and Manufacturing transfer
Process mapping/Control plan Generation
Ability to review and update drawings
Creation of FMEAs
Statistical analysis using (e.g.) Minitab
CAD experience such as Solidworks
Creation of ECOs/DCOs
Experienced in Supplier Engagement and support
Experience working in Medical Device Industry and with 13485/FDA requirements
Experience with single use/disposable medical devices a plus
Knowledge and Experience in Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing methodologies a plus
Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques, machining techniques/Injection molding, metals/plastics
