**A Day in the Life**
The Senior Manager, Global Trade Operations Export Controls provides leadership and technical guidance to a team of trade professionals in operational export controls sanctions activities. This position is successful by ensuring the training and career development of Trade Operations Export Controls team members, and by engaging and influencing leaders and stakeholders at all levels and across the organization. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that global processes and technologies are developed and successfully implemented.
**Responsibilities**
Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 6-8 trade professionals in global operational export controls sanctions activities, including training, career development, performance management and accountability
Responsible for creation and implementation of all operational processes and procedures to align with regulatory and record-keeping requirements, as well as training and continued education for all relevant parties
Exercise oversight of all US Export Controls Classifications for Medtronics inventory non-inventory portfolio, including Commodity Jurisdiction requests, CCATS submissions, deemed export evaluations, and front-line quality audits
Maintain direct support for and oversight of Medtronics Operational Export Licensing activities, including system configuration and monitoring of approved licenses in SAP GTS, and front-line audit support of all licensing activities related to global export controls
Provide global oversight of all Denied/Restricted Party Screening activities, including open-source investigation, entity evaluation, recordkeeping, and interaction with Trade Counsel on escalations
Accountable for management of Restricted Party Screening content providers, implementation of new sanctions lists, continuous training for all screening staff, and development and communication of performance metrics
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship and continuous collaboration with Medtronics Global Trade Compliance Legal organization, as well as team members across Medtronics business units and regions regarding export compliance related issues
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
**Nice to Have**
Licensed Customs Broker or Equivalent
Certified US Export Control Officer (CUSECO) Certification
10+ years of relevant experience in international trade, supply chain or compliance and audit functions
Knowledge of International Trade and Customs Regulations and Practices
Knowledge of US and Global Export Controls
Strong collaboration skills, in particular with key stakeholders in Legal, Compliance, and other geographies
Excellent problem solving, communication and organization skills
Masters Degree
Experience in Med Tech and/or multinational manufacturing
Knowledge of Medtronic products and corporate structure
