Drive long term cross-business growth, exceed
customer expectations and differentiate Medtronic from the competition through
successful execution of the health systems strategic plan for the respective
region in collaboration with the Regional Business Unit leaders and National
Senior BU leaders.Develop strong
relationships with senior healthcare leaders in the region and help bridge the
medical - admin gap within/across organizations; this will include the Health
AuthorityC-suite, Hospital site Senior
Administration, regional buying groups/ shared service organizations, HTA
groups and regional Ministries.


**A day in the life.**

_Creates andexecutes comprehensive market access strategies through the integration ofpricing and reimbursement, health technology assessment, evidence-basedmedicine review, and health economic modeling activities._

_Designs,develops and implements an integrated approach to all aspects of the payervalue proposition from early development through and beyond loss ofexclusivity._

_Communicatesthe unique attributes of the therapeutic area drugs/medical devices to externalmulti-stakeholders to ensure the drug's/device's value proposition will berecognized and maximize market uptake._

_Workscollectively with payers, including HTA, reimbursement influencers and otherdecision makers to ensure the continuous changing reimbursement systems remainfair to all involved parties._

_Developsstrategic studies with the end-customer in mind to ensure that the results willfavorably impact pricing, reimbursement and market access as well as marketuptake._

_Conductsquantitative and qualitative pricing research._

_Works withHealth Economics/Outcomes Research to design pricing strategy._

_Responsible for reporting complaints and AdverseDrug Reactions (ADR)_

Sets clear direction and management objectives that aligns with defined
practices and policies and enhances the organization's ability to develop and
execute clinical studies and reimbursement strategies in response to changing
regulatory environments.

Ensure optimal assessment of the potential business impact of
healthcare policy and recommending and implementing appropriate strategy to
drive outcomes are as favorable as possible for Medtronic.

Establishes meaningful metrics and tracks against them.

Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration,
financial management, budgeting and issue resolution.


+ Anticipatechanging market conditions and business needs and drivethoughtful, well-coordinated Medtronicof Canada value propositions segmented customers.

+ Buildand maintain a trusted advisor relationship with key contacts instrategic accounts that complement the BU account relationships andcreates a competitive advantage for Medtronic.

Be responsible for the following
activities with respect to Integrated Health Solutions (IHS):

+ Leadand conduct initial IHS customer engagement and discussions to qualifyand anchor interest at the Senior Leadership level and gain commitment toNext Steps

+ Workcollaboratively with IHS National Director in ongoing IHS accountsegmentation targeting process


+ Develop a well aligned accessmarket development (MD) process for Medtronic as defined within MedtronicCanadas Strategic Plan

+ Act as primary liaison withgovernment stakeholders;

+ Support market development andmarketing leaders in the implementation of business unit specificAccess/MD plans/campaigns;

+ Coordinate efforts of key externalstakeholders, including patients and patient groups, physicians, and otherhealth system leaders

+ Develop accountabilitiesmetrics to evaluate effectiveness of campaigns;

+ Monitor activities of keycompetitors;


+ Working with the Director of Access andGovernment Affairs, develop and execute a government affairs strategy andaction plan with clear priorities, deliverables and metrics.

+ Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis ofprovincial government initiatives that influence Medtronics businessenvironment, and based on that analysis, develop opportunities to driveaccess to Medtronic therapies;

+ Represent Medtronic on relevant MEDECcommittees;

+ Support the President and seniorleadership with representations to the Provincial Government on key issuesand policies

+ Participate in building a policy book onissues and opportunities that have impacts on the MedTech industry andMedtronic Canada at the national level and within key provinces.

**Must Have.**

_Bachelorsdegree_ (e.g. Science, Political Science, Health Sciences)

+ _Minimum 10 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerialexperience_

+ Experience in leadership role within medical devices or relatedindustry

+ Experience building and leading high performance teams toward highimpact results and working with decision makers at multiple levels ofhealthcare institutions, government authorities and advocacy groups

+ Solid knowledge ofthe Canadian Health Care System, dynamics and current issues of provincialgovernment

+ Ability to assess,analyze and condense complex data or situation trends, issues andopportunities for actions and responses; and deliver complex informationand to engage people behind strategies and decisions;

+ Understanding ofpolicy making process, healthcare stakeholders and institutions

+ Strong strategicselling and negotiating skills

+ Demonstratedability to function at high level of integrity in people and businessmanagement practices

+ Innovative andcreative agent of change

extensively within assigned region, and other travel mostly within Canada.

+ Experience inleading a new clinical approach to care in a complex system.

+ _Minimum 8 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerialexperience_

+ Experience with similar role in other companies

+ Ability to effectively manage multiple corporate, business unit andcustomer agendas

+ Advanced presentation skills

+ Strong financial acumen pricing, rebates, healthcare economicimpacts

+ Experience in a matrixed, multi-line business environment
