This position is part of a highly talented Software Team delivering a significant group of products within the Neuroscience Portfolio ( https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/healthcare-professionals/products.html ). Our products improve the quality of life for a wide range of patients . We develop and deploy Software products in four unique therapies Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Pelvic Health (PH), Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD) and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). We are growing and building a stronger team with the vision to be the clear partner of choice for innovation and delivery of software solutions to improve patients quality of life.


This role is a Key Functional Leadership opportunity that will be responsible for managing people and projects impacting the SW Operations team. The role will partner with Application Development and Test Development functional leaders to ensure continuous improvements in quality, speed and cost of our software solutions and services. The leader will need to be hands-on problem solver, when needed. The role will be also responsible for standardizing process and tools across the Software organization to enable continuous integration and delivery.


A Day in the Life


+ In partnership with other software functional leaders, responsible for

+ DevOps, TestOps and SysOps processes, infrastructure and tool chain

+ implementation of best practices for design, requirement capture, coding, testing, code management, deployment and maintenance.

+ In alignment with other functional leaders, define and implement metrics (or performance dashboards) to drive higher quality and schedule predictability across project teams,

+ Identify and deploy software development best practices including agile, continuous integration and deployment.

+ Drive continuous improvement and lean methodology mindset for the organization to achieve quality, speed and innovation.

+ Partner with SW Architects to drive technology roadmap and partner, as appropriate, with external partners to achieve organizational goals

+ Responsible for functional leadership - organizational talent planning, performance management, salary administration, and employee relations issues.

+ Actively work to promote employee engagement through organizational diversity, culture, and team building.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Technical Discipline.

+ 5+ years of leadership experience in product development, test development, or software operations or an advanced degree and 3+ years experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Experience with DevOps, TestOps and SysOps with related solutions for requirements management, productivity management, testing, CI/CD, etc.

+ Experience with Agile Development

+ Strong people leadership skills, including performance management, talent identification, hiring, retention and motivational skills.

+ Strong collaboration and influence skills to succeed in a high matrix environment.

+ Knowledge of medical device technology regulations and standards

+ Strong verbal and written communications skills

+ Experience in working with a global team and service vendors

+ Proven ability to operate in a matrix organization and work effectively with senior leadership, customers, and across geographic, cultural and organization boundaries.
