As a Principal level RD Engineer on this team, you will
contribute to the development of new and existing products for radio frequency
ablation catheters through frequent interaction with Process, Manufacturing,
and Quality Engineering. Provide recommendations based on in-depth analysis.
Collaborate with design colleagues to ensure designs are capable of meeting
performance targets. May lead projects within job area and may provide
work direction to other employees within job area. Support multiple projects
within the Development group.


**A Day in the Life:**


Work closely with cross-functional
partners such as Manufacturing, Regulatory and Quality, to support the catheter
manufacturing line and product development to a derivative product line.


Proven experience executing product
changes regulated by design control.


Design and develop advanced new
test methods, measurement techniques, and fixtures


Document fixture design in
accordance with Drafting standards.


Review and approve document change
requests for design, materials, and process documentation. Create performance,
design, and process specifications.


Creates, reviews and approves
protocols/reports.


May be involved in product research
and development, pre-clinical evaluations, and/or clinical trials.


Direct the activities of
technicians to ensure project milestones are completed correctly and on
schedule.


Collaborate with Manufacturing
engineering to support the catheter manufacturing line by providing R/D design
support, reviews and approvals


Responsible for subsystems of
product design or smaller designs in their entirety.


Proactively manage deliverables and
provide regular updates to both project and functional management. Be
responsive to changes in work direction and develop creative plans for meeting
aggressive business milestones.


Generate and document invention
disclosures to secure intellectual property on therapies, procedures, and
associated devices.


**Minimum Qualifications-Required:**


B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering,
or related technical field


At least 7 years of
Industry experience or an MS Degree and at least 5 years of experience


**Nice to Have:**


Understanding and
experience in design, development and testing of cardiovascular catheter or
equivalent


Medical Device /
Pharmaceutical or other regulated Industry experience


Experience using CAD
software such as Solidworks


Knowledge of risk
management analysis including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA),
advanced analytical and statistical techniques, and DOE.


Working knowledge of
FDA, MDD, and EU MDR medical device regulations.


Demonstrated strength
in written and verbal communication, judgment, decision making, and critical
thinking


Demonstrated strength
in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization,
cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization


Design for Six Sigma
(DFSS) or Design, Reliability Manufacturability (DRM) certification


Hands on experience
with Instron electromechanical fatigue testing systems.
