Digital Surgery is a data-driven company implementing cutting-edge AI technology, computer vision, and augmented reality to the operating room (OR) and surgical training. Our goal is to deliver safer surgery around the world. The DS1 is our first OR device, allowing surgeons, OR team members, and trainees to securely access videos of their procedures shortly after surgery. The device uses advanced AI algorithms that enable automatic processing and uploading of videos. Our surgical training platform is the award-winning Touch Surgery application that provides safe and accessible training for surgeons and other health care professionals.


The Principal Integrated Marketing Specialist is a cornerstone role within Digital Surgerys marketing function, being the custodian of our main hospital products - including Touch Surgery Enterprise. The individual will own and drive omnichannel marketing activities that expand the number of hospital users and customers. This includes thinking tactically and pragmatically about how we reach our customers, but also strategically about how we brand, message, position and present our solution.


We work in partnership with hospitals and surgeons - a highly technical and close-knitted community of professionals. This requires creativity in terms of understanding the customers unmet needs, crafting value propositions, and running the right kind of campaigns.


You will own the successful messaging, positioning, and market interest-building in a set of products that are cutting-edge, disruptive, trusted and loved.


This individual will work in close partnership with the commercial, product and marketing teams within and outside of the Medtronic Digital Surgery Business, as well as agencies on occasion. It requires the willingness to listen, but the ability to make decisions using evidence and data.


Most importantly, this role will have a focus on execution and results, and the willingness to explore and take calculated risks. We work in a highly regulated market segment, but are doing bold things to change the status quo. We want this to permeate everything we do in marketing.


**A day in the life**


Understanding commercial needs, barriers and opportunities


+ Participates in regular check-ins, debriefs and strategising sessions with the commercial and product teams to understand the market landscape.

+ Keeps a keen eye on customer feedback and what works, by participating in appropriate customer-facing activities such as advisory boards, feedback sessions, society meetings, conferences, etc.

+ Actively monitor industry trends and competitor positioning to understand how other players are positioning and offering.


Own all content and message creation for Digital Surgerys hospital products


+ Craft marketing messages and stories to convey the features and benefits of our hospital products and value propositions, as well as the values and culture of the company - across all platforms and formats. This will include, but is not limited to, social media, newsletters, direct email campaigns, presentations, websites, pitch decks, slides, sales flyers, speaking engagements, presentations at academic conferences, and so on.

+ Work with our fantastic in-house creative and legal teams to ensure that content is aligned with our branding and positioning.

+ Specifically and importantly, work with SMEs to oversee thought leadership strategies and content development to drive both brand awareness and lead generation on a regular cadence

+ Champion for our inclusion, contribute to, and work with the Medtronic Surgical Robotics (SR) marketing and communications teams (or other Medtronic teams) to co-create high-impact pieces of planned on the SR calendar.


Create, run and evaluate high-impact, omnichannel marketing campaigns


+ Develops and implements enterprise-wide, integrated marketing programs. Develops the business case, strategies, executions, measurement and ongoing enhancements to meet Medtronic Digital Surgerys reputational and product growth objectives.

+ Utilise detailed understanding of buyers journey and marketing funnel stages to execute high performing Demand Generation campaigns including Enterprise Account-Based Marketing programs. Support revenue, sales, and product targets.

+ Work with Sales to develop overall trade show strategy to support awareness and lead generation.

+ Work with a cross functional team to continuously optimise our website.

+ Utilises omni-channel marketing models incorporating paid, owned, earned and shared content strategies.

+ Develops reputational KPI's, listening tools and the strategies for tracking and measuring program impact on reputation on a corporate, regional or global basis. Leverages insights to strengthen programs and build new strategies.

+ Builds and maintains stakeholder contact programs and databases to directly connect and share Medtronic Digital Surgerys point of view and insight to the right audiences.


Must Haves:


+ Demonstrable content creation and messaging experience.

+ Extensive integrated marketing experience. Healthcare or life-sciences is preferred but not a strict requirement.

+ Experience growing revenue, sales and product targets in a technology, data products or software company, demonstrable via numbers and KPIs.

+ Successful track record in a high-growth, entrepreneurial, and action-oriented culture. Previous experience in a healthcare start-up is a plus.

+ Experience working in the UK or US. Other global work experience is a plus.

+ Hands-on experience with omnichannel marketing campaigns, with a heavy focus towards digital marketing in both B2B and B2C settings. Experience implementing Account Based Marketing strategies is a plus.

+ Experience with integrated digital/social content calendar, scheduling and managing the release of corporate messaging across paid, earned, shared and owned channels.

+ Experience with leading projects and teams across multidisciplinary skill sets.

+ Experience analyzing data and metrics and turn them into actionable insights.

+ Self-starter, results driven, competent managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

+ Excellent communication, writing, presentation skills.

+ Fluency and intimate knowledge of marketing tech for implementing in, and measuring all relevant digital marketing channels including: Social listening tools, Salesforce, Hootsuite, Hubspot, Google suite of tools, ad tech platforms, WordPress, various social media channels, emailing marketing tools.

+ Fluent in English.
