therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and
monitoring solutions


In this exciting role as a Human Factors Engineer you will
have responsibility for designing and developing next-generation products by
integrating the Voice of the Customer into our future pipeline of cardiac
products and therapies.


**A Day in the Life**


Responsibilities
may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Applies human performance principles, methodologies, andtechnologies to the design of human-machine systems and products.

+ Develops and implements research methodologies andstatistical analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypesused in all phases of products development and processes.

+ Designs and executes tests to simulate product use for thepurposes of concept selection/refinement, requirements development,use-related risk identification and formal usability validation withintended users.

+ Interfaces with design engineers to establish system design,operating, and training requirements and to ensure optimized human-machineinterfaces.

+ Identifies and analyzes technological problems or risks,performs theoretical human factors investigations, and develops andimplements research and analysis plans.

+ Product lifecycle support including customer needsidentification, user profiles, task analysis, user interface design,usability testing, hazard analysis, design validation, and post-launchoutcomes analysis


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ 7+ years of experience with Bachelors Degree; or

+ 5+ years of experience with Masters Degree; or


**Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:**


+ Experience designing and evaluating software andhardware products using principles of Human Factors and Ergonomics

+ Experience working with multidisciplinary teamsand other Human Factors experts.


**Nice to Have**


+ Knowledge of the application various humanfactors/usability engineering principles and tools in the design, development,and evaluation of hardware and software products brought to market.

+ Ability to integrate creative skills withinnovative problem-solving techniques to develop design concepts.

+ Experience creating InteractiveGraphical prototypes (wireframe) using Visio, Axure and/or Photoshop.

+ Experience designing andvalidating Software Human Computer Interfaces for a variety of screensizes.

+ Experience designing andvalidating Hardware User Interface to include physical ergonomics andanthropometry.

+ Experience conducting userresearch or observational research and usability studies.

+ Strong oral and written technical communicationskills. Strong ability to work with and lead multidisciplinary teams that mayinclude other HF experts.

+ Ability to quickly understand and becomeproficient in domain knowledge.

+ Embraces change and ability to multi-taskcontinuously.

+ Ability to work independently with limitedguidance and develop comprehensive plans and solutions to complex issues.

+ Strong negotiation, conflict management, andinfluence management skills.

+ Have a working knowledge of anatomy andphysiology.

+ Previous work experience in the medical industry.

+ Knowledge of product development processes basedon IEC 62366.

+ Experience integrating human factors engineeringinto a product development process.

+ Up to 20% travel required.
