**Neuroscience**


The Neuroscience Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Applies education, experience, and technical expertise toward developing world class medical products for X-ray based, image guided surgery. Participates in the design, development and testing with an emphasis on high-power analog circuits ( 1kW).

+ Familiar with both schematic and layout tools for PCB (Mentor Graphics PADS and DxDesigner preferred)

+ Extensive design experience in simulation and analysis for power and signal integrity

+ System-level design expertise with large voltage ranges, functional architectures, and electronic packaging

+ Fundamental understanding of computer hardware and operating systems

+ Propose new ideas for technology advancement within the Electrical group.

+ Responsible for sub-system development within a large capital project.

+ Develop requirements and specifications for sub-system components.

+ Facilitate make versus buy recommendations.

+ Design and develop electro- mechanical products based on requirements

+ Implement, maintain and execute the project plans for new technology programs

+ Maintain and complete appropriate documentation for new technology programs

+ Ensure appropriate documentation is transferred to product line specific areas during commercialization phase

+ Plan, design, review, and oversee the testing of devices according to international electrical emission, immunity and safety standards

+ Provide information to senior management regarding the impact of new technology programs or new product lines acquisitions on the business

+ All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System

+ Perform duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations

+ All other duties as assigned

+ Travel requirement: 10-20%


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree in a technically required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience


**Nice To Have**


**Specialized knowledge required**


+ B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering

+ Extensive experience in the electrical design for reliability, manufacturability and regulatory compliance in an analog/digital mixed-signal environment

+ Deep domain knowledge and proven track record in mixed-signal analog/digital electronics for circuit boards on the component and circuit level

+ Deep understanding of the electrical safety standards and EMC directives, and has proven track record of implementing those for successful certifications

+ Proven track record for high-reliability design practice and experience

+ Extensive experience and strong track record of product development process from concept to commercialization


**Preferred knowledge**


+ Extensive knowledge of international medical electrical safety standards (EN-60601-1)

+ Extensive knowledge of electrical emission, immunity and safety testing of medical devices

+ Skilled with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, Hyperlynx, and HDL languages for CPLD and FPGA

+ Experience and knowledge of x-ray systems

+ Experience and knowledge of robotics systems and motor controllers

+ Experience and knowledge of PLM systems (Agile preferred)

+ Knowledge in electrical manufacturing processes as they apply to the design process
