The Principal Cybersecurity Specialist will build and lead Red Team engagements as part of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in the Medtronic Global Security Office.


**A DAY IN THE LIFE**


Provide subject matter expertise focusing on offensive red team operations, working to test defensive mechanisms in the organization


Provide hands-on, penetration testing and Red Team engagement expertise


Conduct vulnerability assessments on a wide variety of technologies and implementations utilizing both automated tools and manual techniques


Develop and maintain custom scripts, payloads, tools and methodologies to enhance the Red Team processes


Simulate sophisticated cyberattacks to identify vulnerabilities and gaps in cyber defense processes and technology


Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences


Assist in the scoping of prospective engagements, leading engagements from initial stages through implementation and remediation


Help mentor and develop less experienced staff


Typically manages major / complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products


Develops solutions to complex problems, and/or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area


Implements solutions to problems.


Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results


Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager


Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals


Works with groups on a global basis to encourage more preventative/proactive thinking related to user behavior analytics


Supports a flexible schedule to cover global engagements


**MUST HAVE** (Minimum Qualifications)


Bachelors degree


7+ years of experience with a bachelors degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree


**NICE TO HAVE** (Preferred Qualifications)


Experience performing hardware and software penetration testing


Experience with wireless security testing


Understand network ports and protocols, network devices, and TCP/IP


Working knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, BSD)


Ability to work in a work in a fast-paced environment including translation of complex concepts and issues into insights for Senior Management and non-technical audiences.


Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.


Strong oral and written communications skills.


Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight.


Experience facilitating working sessions


Experience creating risk mitigation strategies


Knowledge in risk assessment methodologies, security frameworks and relevant global regulations (i.e. NIST, OWASP)


Knowledge of the Cyber Killchain and MITRE ATTCK frameworks


Relevant certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, GXPN, GWAPT, GPYC


Strong capability to research and evaluate existing and emerging technologies


Demonstrated ability to take a risk based and proactive approach to manage change


Demonstrated ability to work in flexible and ambiguous environments
