The
Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) Principal Clinical Field
Engineer works closely with TMVR implanting teams to drive procedural success.
You will provide technical support to ensure safe
adoption and safe treatment of patients.


This field based role is open to candidates in New York City, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis or other major Midwest city. Must be convenient to an international airport.

+ Ability to conductcompany business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to5:00pm, work-schedule

+ Ability to travel withovernight stay up to 75% of the time (domestic and international)

+ Comfort level with clinicalenvironment including potential exposure to infectious disease(s),radiation, blood borne pathogens

+ Must be able to wearall required personal protective equipment (PPE)


**TechnicalExpertise**


+ Provide Intrepiddevice and procedural expertise for TMVR implanting centers, by providing echoguidance, technical support in accordance to with the instructions foruse, observing sterile technique for TMVR implant procedures to assistwith loading valves onto delivery catheter all to achieve best clinicaloutcomes.


**EducationalSupport**


+ Provide support forsite performance and to facilitate safe growth. Assist in education and trainingactivities with physicians, hospital support staff and Medtronicpersonnel. Stay abreast of and communicate clinical data regardingMedtronic products and TMVR therapy.


**SiteSupport**


+ Collaborate andstrategize with Therapy Development Manager to achieve Pivotal trialenrollment projections.


**EngineeringField Resource**


+ Provides feedback fromclinical sites on the performance of the product to be incorporated inengineering designs or enhancements, supports research and development inevaluating concepts for new products, and considers potentialmodifications for existing devices while serving as a technical resourcebetween engineering and the customer.


**A Day in the Life**


**Technical/ClinicalSupport**


+ Provide proceduralsupport to help sites achieve safe patient outcome

+ Provide Echo guidance formitral valve treatment

+ Provide technicalleadership for TMVR device procedures. Provide support on questionsregarding device suitability with measuring ability and CT reconstructionexpertise. Provide comprehensive support including knowledge ofimaging modalities (echo/angiography/CT), EKG, blood pressure, wave forms,and ancillary procedural solutions

+ Knowledge of clinicaltrial protocols for TMVR devices for safe and effective use of devices

+ Develop and maintaincomprehensive clinical and technical mitral product knowledge.Understands current published TMVR and relevant literature.

+ Recognize andunderstand competitive products, industry trends.

+ Provides feedback fromclinical sites on the performance of the product to be incorporated inengineering designs or enhancements, supports research and development inevaluating concepts for new products, and considers potentialmodifications for existing devices while serving as a technical resourcebetween engineering and the customer


**EducationalSupport**


+ Oversee localeducation and training activities including coordination and set up ofprocedure simulators, facilitation of simulated TMVR procedures andprocedural troubleshooting, and coordination and facilitation of staffin-services to include pre/peri/post TMVR procedure

+ Provide CT and EchoEducation with Intrepid Device

+ Provide education onsafe and effective use of Medtronic products

+ Identify, establishand maintain productive working relationships with key decision makers,customers and their staff, administrative staff, etc.

+ Participates incustomer/society education meetings and conventions

+ Respond to customercomplaints to resolve complaints in a prompt and effective manner

+ Report and devicecomplaints to proper departments within quality assurance within Medtronic

+ Help drive andmaintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives

+ Maintain highstandards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal andcompany image


**ProfessionalDevelopment**


+ Assist in training newhires to TMVR team


**AdministrativeResponsibilities**


+ Submit accurate andtimely expense reports

+ Schedule travelarrangements to ensure multiple objectives are accomplished

+ Maintain hospitaleligibility/access with various vendor credentialing services


**Communication**


+ Maintains a high levelof communication with TMVR leadership and leadership within assignedgeography

+ Communicate marketintelligence/competitor activity promptly

+ Ensure a professionalstandard of written and verbal communication at all times


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree

+ 7+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree

+ 4+ years case support experience

+ Experience with teaching/training medical personnel

+ Mitral Valve Cardiac Echocardiography experience

+ Imaging interpretation experience (TTE or Trans Esophageal Echocardiography (TEE), CT, Angiograms)


**Nice to Have**


+ 7+ years medicaldevice industry, clinical or sales experience in an industry setting;selling or supporting interventional cardiology, vascular or surgicalproducts

+ 5+ years experiencein Clinical Research, hospital, engineering or medical devices (3+ yearsexperience with Masters degree or 0+ years with PhD)

+ 5+ years experiencecollaborating with cross functional clinical partners, customers or salescolleagues in the health care industry

+ Exceptionalunderstanding of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology

+ Excellentinfluencing and consulting skill

+ Ability to maketimely and sound decisions under pressure

+ Thorough workingknowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures and the medicaldevice industry

+ Advanced degree inEngineering (BioMed/EE/Mech), Healthcare/Life Sciences

+ 2+ years experiencein the management of clinical devices

+ 5+ years experiencein a cath lab, biomedical engineering, hospital/clinic or medical sales

+ Ability to work withmany different customers from varying backgrounds

+ Ability tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job

+ Experience withwires, balloons, catheters, stents

+ Experiencecommunicating products instructions for use to physicians and hospitaladministration

+ Expertise withMicrosoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

+ Excellentinterpersonal and written communication skills

+ Excellent customerservice skills

+ Effectively buildand maintain positive relationships with peers and colleagues acrossorganizational levels and functions

+ Ability to coordinate/participatein numerous tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment in an organizedmanner while meeting deadlines

+ Strong work ethic inaccomplishing objectives of the position

+ Ability to travelwith overnight stay up to 75% of the time (geography variability)
