We are currently hiring a Principle Product Engineer for our Tempe, Arizona microelectronics manufacturing site.

**A Day in the Life**

As a Principle Product Engineer, you will have responsibility for product development activities for Medtronic microelectronic subassemblies. You will take products through all aspects of development from early design considerations, electrical PWB design through integration into manufacturing and market launch. This role requires high quality standards as our products are implantable medical devices. We also deliver compliance documentation in conformance with FDA federal regulations. The role requires a high level of technical rigor with respect to design activities and requires leadership as the product engineer will drive many of the project decisions at the hybrid subassembly level.

In this dynamic role, you will partner closely with Manufacturing as well as Design, Test Engineering, Quality, Reliability and Regulatory.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

+ Responsible for technical aspects for the hybrid electronic subassembly design and development.

+ Work closely with other Medtronic functions to meet Quality, Cost and Delivery initiatives

+ Responsible for engineering activities associated with components selected from suppliers to ensure components and materials meet specified requirements and performance, reliability and safety goals.

+ Lead cross-functional teams to drive root cause and final resolution of yield related issues

+ Responsible for production support with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; product specification and yield problems; analysis of customer returns; supplier related engineering changes and optimizing production relative to cost constraints.

+ Assumes responsibility for hybrid electronics and/or internally produced or externally purchased components. Responsible for hybrid electronic subassembly manufacturing builds during development.

+ Travel 10%

**Must Have: Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

**Nice to Have**

+ Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline

+ Experience or knowledge in device physics of integrated circuits

+ Experience with statistical software applications, such as JMP or Minitab

+ DFSS Design for Six Sigma and/or DRM Design for Reliability and Manufacturability knowledge and experience including Design of Experiments and Voice of the Customer

+ PWB/PCB design and modeling experience

+ SIP, SCSP design experience

+ Experience or knowledge in 3D electronics design

+ 3D packaging knowledge

+ Strong electrical theory knowledge

+ Strong electrical debug skills, especially with analog circuits
