As Pre-Market Software Reliability Engineering Manager,you will lead a team of Software Quality Assurance professionals to ensure software quality by design.


**CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT Operating Unit** offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

**A Day in the Life**


+ Establish and execute a strategy that ensures product quality with state of the art processes and a motivated and talented staff

+ Lead a team of engineers and technicians to achieve product and project quality outcomes

+ Lead organizational process improvement projects, cross-functional business improvement teams, and develop shared best practices to drive functional excellence

+ Lead, direct, organize and control planning for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) expense budgets.

+ Mentor, coach and develop engineers to increase their effectiveness as well as employee engagement by creating a collaborative, learning environment.

+ Provide functional and department leadership to the organization and oversee organizational talent planning, performance management, salary administration, and employee relations issues.

+ Actively work to promote employee engagement through organizational diversity, culture, and team building.


Responsibilities may also include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the companys design and development of new medical device products or software systems.

+ May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.

+ Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.

+ Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

+ Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.

+ Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.

+ Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.

+ Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

+ Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 3+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry **.**


**Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)**


+ Extensive exposure to, and experience working in or with development, quality, and operations

+ Excellent leadership and planning skills.

+ Strong people leadership skills, including performance management, talent identification, hiring, retention and motivational skills.

+ Strong collaboration and influence skills to succeed in a highly matrixed environment.

+ Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (ISO 14971/IEC 62304/Mobile Medical Application (MMA)

+ Experience with medical devices, especially implantable medical devices.

+ Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) experience

+ Strong communication skills and executive presence

+ Experience working across geographies and cultures and with multiple management teams is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

+ DRM Green or Black Belt

+ Expertise in Software Engineering, Design Assurance, or Product Development
