Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Organization Effectiveness (GOE), the Organization Development Strategist will identify needs, and design and develop solutions utilizing proven OD methods. He or she will work closely with the Business Leaders and HR practitioners in this capacity.

In collaboration with senior business and HR leadership, he or she directs and/or contributes to the design, planning, and implementation of organizational effectiveness efforts. This position also orchestrates business change and culture transformation initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs.

As a part of the GOE Team, the organization development strategist will play a key role in organization design, culture transformation, org effectiveness, data driven change leadership, full cycle organization development, and team effectiveness.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Assesses critical business issues, designs organization development tools, and evaluates both long/short-term strategic plans to enhance company performance.

+ Designs and implements programs and processes including coaching, training, organizational design, and process improvement to enhance the effectiveness of managers, teams and organizations to increase productivity and customer satisfaction.

+ Assesses critical business issues and designs organization development and strategic plans to enhance company performance.

+ Facilitates change management through design and implementation of reengineering and/or reorganization efforts.

+ Advises on team design and performance.

+ Provides development, coaching and training to managers on leadership skills and organizational effectiveness.

+ Act as a focal point for organization development, organization design, change management, culture transformation, and team effectiveness across all parts of Medtronic, Corporate Functions, and Operating Unit(s)

+ Advise and consult with business and HR leaders regarding optimal organization design, structures, roles responsibilities to enable successful change initiatives

+ Build on core content, templates, and methodologies developed by the CoE to evolve a rich OD toolkit and programs, and make them available across all groups

+ Facilitate large scale interventions in order to stimulate behavior change within teams to further organizational optimization

+ Transfer knowledge to HR and the businesses to facilitate capability-building and sustained behavior change

+ Analyze data to develop integrated solutions that span organizational boundaries (e.g., Operating Unit, Strategy, Finance, etc.)

+ Use benchmarking best practices for development and deployment of tools and systems

+ Consult with multiples levels of leadership across diverse functions and coordinate for consensus and/or agreement across matrixed functions, regions, and business

+ Ensure that systems and processes are aligned/streamlined to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of the business

+ As required, manage and/or coordinate with external vendors/consultants who will support the enabling of large-scale organizational deployment of major programs

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum 13

+ Previous or present experience in an OD/HRD function, demonstrating achievement in creating and delivering clear and relevant value for the business

+ Ability to work closely with the senior management team to develop OD solutions for business needs

+ Working within a complex US-based global, multi-cultural organization

+ Delivering solutions within dynamic environments undergoing change

+ Capacity to serve as an advisor and technical expert regarding organizational development, including organization culture and team development

+ Experience in driving and leading change

+ Knowledge of cross-cultural differences that impact our business

+ Experience in diagnostics, consultation, leading and delivering projects

+ Experience of evaluation methodologies, analytics, KPIs and reporting dashboards, etc.

+ Build close relationships within HR, working to understand changes and enhancements to offerings and their global implications within Medtronic, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of activity

+ Develop, administer and ensure continuous enhancements to key OD instruments and processes

+ Develop cost-effective, high-impact solutions that address business critical business

**Nice to Have**

+ Significant and deep practical understanding of and experience in practically applying OD theory to achieve business outcomes at the individual, team and business unit and organizational level.

+ Ten to fifteen years of related OD experience in:

+ Organizational assessment,

+ Org design

+ Change management

+ Talent management

+ Employee engagement

+ Team effectiveness

+ Process creation and management (e.g., toolkits, methodologies, etc.)

+ Knowledge transfer strategies

+ Leading or significantly contributing to diverse project teams and deliverables development.

+ Excellent written and oral communications skills

+ Ability to work within a large, complex, matrixed organization

+ Ability to exert influence without direct-line authority

+ Strong and demonstrable project management and prioritization skills

+ Knowledge of web-based tools and systems, performance/talent management processes and systems, leadership assessments, cost-benefit analyses.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).

+ Track record of proven success within Organization Development and/or Organization Effectiveness and change

+ Requires highest knowledge and mastery of multiple job areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Viewed as the leading expert and / or resource within the field by peers within and outside the organization.
