The Operations Director, New Product Introduction is the face and voice of Operations in the New Product Development (NPD) process. This highly visible and impactful role will build a team of Operations Program Managers and is responsible for value stream selection, planning, execution, and implementation of new products.
This role owns and ensures overall Operations project execution with respect to schedule, budget, resource allocation, risk management, issue resolution and compliance to internal quality requirements. Results are accomplished by leading up to 10 Extended Operations functions including Supply Management, Component Engineering, Process Development, Contract Manufacturing, Self-Manufacturing, Pharma Operations, Packaging Labeling, Sterilization, Global Supply Chain, and Distribution functions.
**A Day in the Life:**
Build and lead a new team of Operations Program Managers who are the face of Operations in the New Product Development process.
Lead DRM strategy and implementation to enable Design for Manufacturability of new Diabetes products.
Ensure down-stream operations implications are considered early in the product development process. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to ask critical questions without being the technical subject matter expert.
Negotiate tradeoffs and facilitate business decisions to reach mutually beneficial results. Com-municate with and influence multiple layers of management.
Ensure scope, cost, resource and schedule alignment between AIP Network Operations, the Diabe-tes Operating Unit and new product development core team functions.
Balance strategic with tactical. Execute against established Operations Strategies and adhere to compliance processes for new product development.
Coach and develop talent to help individuals advance their skills and careers. Provide perfor-mance feedback.
Deliver NPD Operations competitive advantage with exceptional product quality, with as low as reasonable cost, in an efficient manner.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
7+ years program or people leadership experience.
**Nice to Have:**
Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline or Masters in Business Administration
Experience with Ablation Products and therapies (e.g. catheters, generators).
Experience with Active Implantable Devices and Pumps and therapies
Medical device product development experience and a strong understanding of FDA, ICH and IEC standards
Experience across the entire product lifecycle
DRM, DFSS or Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
PMP Certified
