The individual in this people-management position will manage a group of legal assistants and other support personnel within the Corporate Shared Functions Administrative team. Responsibilities will include planning operational objectives, determining team responsibilities and schedules, making adjustments or recommending enhancements in systems and day-to-day department processes, providing day-to-day work direction, and providing primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports. This role reports to the Director, Global Legal Operations.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Supervise team of support level employees within Shared Functions legal team.

+ Work with Shared Functions management to determine best structure for support resources.

+ Provide day-to-day work direction for team, focused on maintaining steady workflow, resource allocation and productivity.

+ Basic management responsibilities, including work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution, as well as performance management.

+ Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing legal administrative projects and process improvement initiatives, including contract and legal matter administration

+ Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

+ Manage various administrative duties including file management, calendar and contact management across leaders, working in various Medtronic systems, making travel arrangements in the US and OUS, Internet/Intranet research, scheduling meetings, photocopying and scanning documents, managing calendars, and preparing expense reports.

+ Plan and arrange video conferences, WebEx meetings, and Shared Functions or Global Legal events.

+ Maintain complex calendars and scheduling.

+ Create high level graphic presentations using PowerPoint and other tools.

+ Manage confidential information.

+ All activities must be performed in compliance with the local Quality System.

+ Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.

+ All other duties as assigned.

+ Travel requirement: Less than 10%

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of legal assistant experience, or advanced degree and 3+ years of legal assistant experience

**Nice to Have**

+ People management experience

+ Exceptional oral and written communications skills

+ Competency in MS Office, including PPT and Excel

+ Ability to maintain composure in high demand situations

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Substantial word processing skills and advanced PowerPoint skills

+ Ability to work accurately under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions

+ Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across team boundaries

+ Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, and to adapt to changing priorities

+ Detail oriented

+ Resourceful

+ Self-motivated and willing to work independently when necessary

+ Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and confidentiality

+ Project management and problem-solving skills
