and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.


As a Facilities Reliability Engineering Lead, you
will provide site wide technical leadership in all areas pertaining to
Utilities, buildings structures, and Electrical/Plumbing/Mechanical
systems.The role supports the North Haven Medtronic site containing
over ~1.5MM sf of building space across 4 buildings and a parking garage.
Footprint is varied and includes general office space, medical device
manufacturing areas, chemical plants, machine shops, and other industrial
areas. Oversight also includes Electrical Cogeneration and Fuel Cell
technologies present at the site.


This role may have up to 6 direct
reports and includes budgetary management of capital facility investments of up
to $10MM annually. Responsibilities include planning and executing facility
related projects for manufacturing, lab, office and warehouse areas;
Establishing and executing Facilities cost reduction projects of ~$1MM
annually; Management of mechanical systems design for improved technology,
efficiency, and, reliability; Project management of facilities initiatives
within cost and time goals.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Manage/Mentor direct reports and staff

+ Provide Technical support and expert guidancefor all plant/facilities functions (HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing)

+ Accountable for project planning and financialjustification for all north Haven site facilities capital projects

+ Provides technical leadership for all NHMAplant facilities related capital and strategic initiatives includingreview and approval of all engineering site work proposals consisting ofdetailed design and engineering drawings and project specificationscontaining equipment, materials, estimated costs and schedules.

+ Responsible for Project Leadership andmanagement for all facilities engineering related capital projects includingfinancial reporting, management of sub-contractors, and daily taskoversight and management

+ Responsible for oversight, management, andMaintenance of on-site electrical generation systems including powerplants and fuel cells to maximize site energy efficiency and benefit.

+ Accountable for establishing and maintaining afacilities cost reduction program including an active project hopper and amanaged pipeline of projects resulting in a min. of $500K Yearly

+ Responsibility to establish and maintainbuilding drawing documentation systems and assure files are kept currentand accurate.

+ Developmentand issuance SOPs andPMplans for all new and existing capital equipment

+ Conducts research into new products andsystems.

+ Prepares request for quotations to be used tohire consultants for specific functions throughout the facility project.

+ Negotiates, hires, reviews, monitorsperformance, approves payment, and manages external contractors orconsultants.

+ Responsible for root cause investigation andcorrective action leadership for all critical Facilities systems failuresthrough demonstrated use of operational excellence tools.

+ Collaborate with operations partners todevelop flexible manufacturing cell designs and process flows in supportof lean manufacturing systems and corporate initiatives

+ Maintain global awareness of manufacturingfacilities and strategies capabilities and provide insights intotechnology specialties across the global manufacturing sites to projectcore teams.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable engineering field

+ 7+ year of experience in Facilities Systems Engineering


**Nice to Have:**


+ Thorough understanding of building Mechanical and Electrical systems and current technologies that support them.

+ Must be very strong at Mechanical System design and optimization

+ Highly skilled with Excel, MS Project, and AutoCAD

+ Demonstrated financial acumen and analytic skills

+ Diverse background with prior experience in multiple disciplines

+ Strong Project Management skills

+ Trained/Certified in Lean and/or 6 Sigma

+ Experience in Maintenance Excellence programs and systems
