segments.As the **Global UpstreamPrincipal Product Manager** for the smart pen category, you will be driving
upstream product management.This unique
business combines digital health and traditional med tech - app development and
patient focus.You will work with
various functions to develop new products via collaboration with Product
Marketing, Regional counterparts, RD, Regulatory, Clinical, and Business
Development.


Key responsibilities include; providing
commercial leadership for product pipeline, driving global portfolio management
strategy, scenario planning for product pipeline, and strategic commercial
planning for individual products and programs.


**_**This role is based in Northridge, CA and is not open to remote (post Covid restrictions)**_**


**A Day in the Life**


Product Strategy New Product Development


+ Support product development decisions for current and future smartpen.

+ Through deep understanding of current business, be able to articulatefuture steps needed to continue the growth trajectory of business.

+ Generate business plans, market requirements documents,presentations and supporting materials to align all functional groups behind acommon product vision.

+ Lead global portfolio commercialization and planning within thecategory understanding and analyzing competitive landscape

+ Drive claims development for current pipeline products

+ Understand and optimize patient experience with product portfolio

+ Provide portfolio scenario planning and value assessment

+ Conduct market research to uncover customer and business insights;translate those insights into products and programs that deliver growth for theproduct category

+ Represent the category during medical conferences, sales meetings,and customer visits

+ Determines the profitability and viability of new products orproduct enhancements.

+ Maintain strong therapy and product knowledge; support internaland external customer education programs and product training as required BasicQualifications

+ Travel approximately 25%

+ Participate in cross-functional teams to optimize future productstrategy around given business needs, market needs, customer needs andtechnical capabilities.

+ Work with other marketing partners to understand unique customerbusiness needs and ensure product requirements are aligned with globalproducts and strategies.

+ Interact with Business Development team to identify acquisition,licensing and other partnership opportunities


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


To be considered, these qualifications must be evident on your resume


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 10 years of relevantexperience in product marketing or product commercialization, or

+ Advanced degree with a minimum of 8years relevant experience in product marketing or product commercialization

+ Experience with finance and businessanalysis


**Nice to Have**


+ MBA in business or marketing preferred

+ Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering field preferred

+ Experience in upstream marketing preferred

+ New product voice of customer/market research and designexperience

+ Cross-functional product management (ownership) experience

+ Software product launch experience

+ Previous experience in medical device, pharmaceutical orconsumer products preferred

+ Knowledge of medical device industry practices, techniquesand standards (e.g., role of clinical trials, reimbursement landscape)

+ Experience working in a fast paced, global organization

+ Global perspective and mindset

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills withexperience communicating with senior leaders.

+ Diabetes product knowledge is a plus

+ International product marketing experience

+ Experience in digital health / regulated digital is a plus
