This position has the responsibility and authority to actively lead Medtronic - Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) assigned projects to achieve business objectives through use of formal project management techniques. These projects may include but are not limited to the following: developing new products, implementing compliance improvements, reducing product costs, improving customer satisfaction.


**Day in the life:**

Lead cross-functional teams, across a matrix organization, in developing and releasing new medical devices for the ENT division of Medtronic. While maintaining compliance with Quality System, lead planning efforts to develop items such as the project plan, project contract (budget and schedule) and project risk analysis (including risk mitigations).

Facilitate effective communication with project team, support team and management. This includes timely, unbiased communication of project status, issues and recommendations.

Manage project execution to achieve project plan/contract. Pro-actively address issues to minimize their impact to project.

Pro-actively address any performance issues on the project team with the individual and their manager in a timely manner. Provide team members feedback on their performance.

Conduct Project updates with Management in a professional and unbiased manner, sometimes weekly or monthly.

Responsible for AOP budgeting, capital planning, forecasting and budget issue resolution.

Responsible for program resource demand planning via AOP and through resource tracking software(including time tracking).

Will often lead a program from initial market identification, through product initiation, development and launch.

Sets clear direction and establishes meaningful metrics for the team.

Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.

All other duties as assigned.

Travel requirement: Less than 10%


**Minimum Qualifications:**

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Similar related field and 5+ years of experience.

Advanced degree in Engineering or Similar related field and 3+ years of experience.


**Nice to Have**

Strong preference for those with product development experience within the medical device industry for items such as: Complex capital electrical/mechanical systems, software development and single-use disposables

7+ years Quality System experience in medical device or other highly regulated/technical industry.

5+ years experience in successfully leading projects or programs.

Masters and/or MBA preferred.

PMP Certification preferred.

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training and/or Certification preferred.

Ability to influence others.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Demonstrated decision making skills.

Ability to lead projects in a matrix structure.

Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and across the organization.

Good interpersonal skills.

Performance Management Leadership and Coaching Skills.

Good Presentation Skills.

Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly.

Ability to manage through ambiguity.

Experience with in-house/on-site manufacturing and working with Contract Manufacturers.

Experience with medical device sterilization methods.

Experience with the following standards/regulations: IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 10993, ISO 14971,IEC 62366, FDA Design Controls, EU MDR
