**A Day in the Life**


Interprets, understands and provides feedback on software requirements for a project. Performs requirement analysis to determine completeness and compliance with software system. Ability to work with requirement management tools.


Develops solid designs with extensive use of common design constructs and patterns utilizing best practices. Participates in design reviews and assesses strength of others designs.


Responsible for delivery of high-quality code for a subsystem or section of code under the guidance of a more senior engineer. Code is consistently well-documented and maintainable. Uses appropriate tools to support code development.


Writes and executes comprehensive unit and integration testing to meet quality expectations under the guidance of a more senior engineer. Understands appropriate verification practices and tools.


Addresses defects and observations providing solutions that are maintainable, factor in a system wide perspective and do not introduce new defects.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.


Determines systems software design requirements.


Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.


Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


oBachelors in Engineering with 2+ years software development experience or Masters in Engineering


**Nice to Have**


-Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills


-Proficient with multiple 8-bit to 32-bit RISC processor architectures such as ARM Cortex series


-Proficient with device driver development


-Proficient in embedded C/C+-Fluency in electrical engineering fundamentals


-Knowledge and appreciation of IEC 62304


Experience in the following:


oReal-time operating systems


oSystem communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, USART etc


oAgile software development practices


oDesign of software components and systems


oDesign of multitasking systems with RTOS


oRequirements management


oDocumenting software designs using tools such as VISIO or Enterprise Architect


oThreadX operating system


oIntegrity PTC, IAR Compiler, Enterprise Architect, Surround, GIT, Visual Studio 2008


oWorking with off-shore teams
