Functional Area: Facilities/Maintenance
Work Location: GAM - Mexicali
Job Description Summary: The Facilities Automation Engineer will be responsible for the development, analysis and troubleshooting needs for all Automation Equipment and Controls. This will include all automated equipment, electronic control and programming software equipment and hardware upgrades and/or refurbishing the equipment. He or she will also assist in managing maintenance projects, equipment upgrades and/or refurbishing the equipment. He or she will also assist in managing maintenance projects, equipment upgrades and refurbishment, administrating software back up's of manufacturing machine and equipment in plant, as well as transferred equipment and purchased equipment, will be responsible for administrating spare parts projects for software/hardware spares, within the facility.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering: Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or similar Engineering discipline.
CLAD or higher certified by National Instruments
Candidates must have 1+ years facilities work experience and have strong PLC's and LabVIEW knowledge and troubleshooting experience working with automated control and embedded systems and equipment with electrical controls.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, including working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these tools is highly desired.
Knowledge in selecting actuator and sensor that achieve the requirements of the project, in order to fulfill the EH&S and manufacturing protocol.
Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, Embedded Systems such as RSlogix500, RSlogix5000,Panel view, LabVIEW 2014, DAQ, CRIO, or other programming platforms its highly desired
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills utilizing tools such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point)
Knowledge in development, debugging and fix code in LabVIEW application.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to monitor and follow up on the work of external service providers and suppliers.
Knowledge in numeric control machinery
Experience in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid works, Catia is highly preferred
