Job Description Summary: Role summary:

A manufacturing engineer will ultimately be responsible for ensuring the shop floor has what they need to carry out the job, then drive continuous improvement to promote lean thinking and make improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate manufacturing layouts, machine requirements, and tool requirements/application - (preferably Solumina experience)
• Prepare, maintain and revise tool sheets, stage drawings, and rework schemes - (preferably AutoCAD experience)
• Create, maintain and amend bill of materials - (preferably SAP experience)
• Introduce new products into an existing functioning operations environment
• Support assembly of units within an Aftermarket environment on maintenance, repair and overhaul.
• Provide shop floor support & assist a team that consists of multiple job roles
• Resolve quality issues (non-conformances) by defining and eliminating 'root' cause
• Assist with design of durable tooling, perishable tooling, and gauges - (preferably AutoCAD experience)
• Perform required duties to meet customer and ISO standards
• Promote a safe working environment
• Perform other duties assigned
Basic Qualifications: Completion of HNC minimum or applicable years’ experience across various manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated experience in metal cutting on all aspects of machining; experience in machine shop methods planning is required
• Strong ability to read, analyse, and interpret Engineering Drawings, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is required
• Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public is an asset
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software
• Must be able to undertake occasional visits to Vendors, conventions or other GR Divisions to assist in method development, improvements, and problem solving
• Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR

From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the Company to perform other tasks which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.
