In this exciting role as an **Analytical Instrument Specialist** you willhave the responsibility forperforming routine instrument qualification and maintenance for the Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratories. The candidate will be required to perform planned preventative maintenance and requalification activities. In addition, they will also be expected to perform non-routine instrumentation troubleshooting activities and revise Instrument Operating Procedures (IOPs) to ensure that all maintenance, calibration, and training activities are properly documented and governed. This individual will work in conformance with company policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Lab Practices (GLP), regulatory requirements and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.


**A Day in the Life**


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned


+ Assist or perform routine instrument qualification maintenance specified in laboratory procedures to ensure all instruments are properly qualified maintained.

+ Assist with keeping all maintenance and qualifications current for laboratory equipment.

+ Able to multi-task by being able to execute multiple tasks accurately and correctly to support deadlines.

+ Responsible for communicating atypical and Out-of-Specification qualification results to laboratory management. Takes an active role in supporting investigations.

+ Facilitate the evaluation and ordering of appropriate laboratory instrumentation and parts.

+ Facilitate development, implementation, and revision of appropriate procedures and controls.

+ Coordinate maintenance qualification activities performed by outside vendors.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

Bachelors degree in Science or technical field with 0+ years of work experience.


**Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)**


+ Bachelors in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other Science or technical field.

+ Capable of operating laboratory software, qualifying, maintaining, mapping controlled chambers and other laboratory equipment, or willingness to learn these disciplines.

+ Solid technical ability, equipment set up, and troubleshooting skills.

+ Ability to work in a laboratory with solvents and laboratory substances.

+ Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

+ Ability to lift 50 or more pounds periodically.

+ Two years of laboratory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

+ Strong communication skills as demonstrated by documenting test results and working successfully in a dynamic team environment.

+ Ability to prioritize and execute on daily tasks, and long-term objectives as demonstrated by self-prioritizing and managing work requests.

+ Experience using Empower Chromatography software and a LIMS.
